Zenward's Magic by Clare Dargin

What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. This cover really doesn't work for me. Yes, I know what the graphic designer was trying to do and it just doesn't work.

The dragon superimposed on the guys chest just looks odd and wrong. What is that weird shape going up to the guys neck? It looks like he almost has a star of David on his chest?!?

The publisher at the top of the page is a bit distracting and the font is too thin. I can't make out the letters in this thumbnail size.

I'll let robin make better comments about the rest of the tittle. I'll just say that it doesn't work on this background.

  2. I'm guessing this is paranormal romance, perhaps. I'm getting that vibe from the flexed abs on display. The headless man appears to be leaning yet not leaning forward onto a glass and this moment is catching it mid-shatter after his pecs bump/hit/flex against it? I think I've confused myself. I'm sorry.

  3. I'm getting Katie Perry video flashbacks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGJuMBdaqIw). I congratulate Eric for figuring out it was a dragon. I couldn't even get that far. I don't like the title embossing and the author name is very small and difficult to read for an epub. And the publications banner at the top is overwhelming and distracting; the typeface and roses are so completely different than the cover that it jars.
