Unwanted Mate by Rebecca Royce

What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. I love this cover! The model is HOT, the rain gives an ambiance and a mood--the motorcycle and darkness add to the mood, lol. Love the tattoos and the sexy font. I'll admit that I noticed the girl very last...lol

  2. Fiona Jayde has done all of the stock covers for the Decadent Publishing Edge Erotica series and she outdid herself with them! This is a drool-worthy Jimmy Thomas cover at its best!

  3. I'd know Jimmy anywhere . Like it better w/o the girl - clutters up the picture, imho, and takes away from the background. Could just be me.

  4. I like the artwork a lot, but my problem is that her position looks supremely uncomfortable, and if he's supposed to be riding the bike and not just sitting on it (his head-forward position suggests movement) it just gets ludicrous. My button-of-logical-possiblity breaks at that point.

I do like the color scheme. I like the typefaces too but they are SO cramped. I'd give them just a bit more air, it's kind of a blob of type down thee.

  5. I found this cover confusing. First I saw a smiling man on a motorbike. Then I noticed the girl's head and had to examine the picture more closely to work out where she was etc. After that, I had to peer at the font. I thought it said "sisters and bikes" (mybe I'm dsylexia). The "T" in Unwanted and Mate threw me. These suggest a religious theme. Finally, I saw the man's tattoo. Never noticed the rain. If I had to guess the genre, I would have had to pass. Probably understandable as it's not something I would buy.

  6. Obviously romance. The only thing I' d do differently to tie in the paranormal element is have a wolf or something in the background that reflects the subject and title better. I do like this cover and it doesn't appear the bike is moving so it doesn't bother me that she's posed in this manner.
