Seducing the Stone by Naomi Bellina
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover?
Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want
to BUY the book? Discuss.
I will go first, since it's my book. Fiona Jayde did a great job capturing the spirit of this story. I love her rendition of the city, and she got the background perfect, putting in stars as I requested. The gem the fairy is holding is a sapphire called Starry Night. Perfect! Excellent job, Fiona!
Genre: I would have guessed fantasy based on just the artwork alone. If there was not the big letters saying Erotic Romance, I would have never suspected.
The text for the book would look good for a printed book, as an e-book for thumbnail I'm not sure that it looks that great. I could not see the word "the" until my second glance and thought the title was just "Seducing stone."
Also I can not read Naomi's name at all; sorry. The letters just mush together and are unreadable.
The artwork is very nice, though I would have given the gem more facets and I'm not too excited about whatever the heck is on her head; looks like bug wings (sorry).
I very much like the overall color scheme and the moon/stars.
The tyopgraphy obviously has some work done in it, but it looks a little cramped to me and I have to agree with Eric; the author name is pretty much illegible at this size. I didn't get the "the" at all. I think a few tweaks would fix it; maybe less compressed on the author name; giving it air and wide character spacing would be a good contrast and make it more readable. Change typeface for the "the" word.
Thanks for all the input and I agree with the comments regarding typeface and weird things in hair. It's so beautiful and I'm glad I had this opportunity to show it off. I hope Fiona saw this.
That is a gorgeous cover!

fabulous cover. just gorgeous. my only question is--what is that on the girl's head? I can't tell if it is a space station or a hat. Otherwise--bravo!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cover! Fiona's work is amazing. To me, it says sci-fi fantasy with romantic elements. Congratulations!
