Elora's Match by Liia Ann White
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover?
Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want
to BUY the book? Discuss.
I like the way the characters are posed, and the color differences in the eyes compared to the skin color and overall hue. The Different Saga makes me curious as to how those colors might be related. The words different and match are opposite, so that makes me curious how they are related to the story. I can see it's contemporary because of the city, and the look of the characters. I like the hero's scruff and longish hair. I'd pick this up and look at the blurb, perhaps read some of it to see whether the writing intrigued.
But the little text under the title is totally unreadable. I can't believe how many times I have written that on this blog. I wonder why the artist can't see these sorts of things.
Beyond the text issue the cover is a c+ Doesn't have any major problems that can't be fixed but does not stand out all that much either.
Not a bad romance cover. I like the couple. I'm with Eric; text under the title is totally unreadable. And though I like the typography overall, the blue of the title just does not match the more brownish purple tones of the background. Yet it's not enough different either. It should either match, or be very different but complimentary. It's neither.
Romance. Not a genre I'm remotely interested in, but here goes nothing: The lettering under the title is impossible to read. The 2 characters look bored with each other. Are they watching TV?

ReplyDeleteThe cover is fine and make me think romance.

It's beautiful except I can't read the small print under the title.

ReplyDeleteVery nice cover. The writing below the title is indistinguishable, but that's a very easy fix.
