G'Day USA by Tony McFadden

What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. I think it's a paranormal fiction judging by the mist and rays of sunlight.
The title is not working for me, the artist should not bother to draw a circle around it. I do curious about the book because I like everything paranormal.

  2. I do not have a clue to the genre with this cover.

I do not like the text work. The authors name is just flat and does not stand out. The little text by the women's head is unreadable in thumbnail. The whole oval with the title just looks odd.

This cover really needs something more to help the customers what's it is about and to make it stand out more.

  3. Thanks for the comments. Not paranormal. Crime fiction (thank god there's a blurb). I'm beginning to understand that the opinions on covers are even more varied than the opinions on the insides. I don't worry about the cover evoking the genre - I place the book in the genre most suitable, taking away that guess. I want to evoke the mood of the book with the cover and I believe this cover does that.

  4. I will be back, though, and if you don't get the genre and them from this one (it's my first book), then, well, there's no excuse ;^)
