Concerto by Sandra Miller (redesigned)
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.
I like this cover. The photo is really nice, and I like the color scheme. In fact, the only thing I do not like about the cover is the top and title. there is too much white, especially above the title. I would make that background not so white and change the typeface, either to a really old-fashioned script or to a sans-serif but a traditional one. And center the title vertically within its background.
But the whole thing strikes me as stationary, fixed, and not dynamic. Makes me wonder if the story is energetic or controlled.
The design ain't too bad. But the image, the title, and the author's name are compressed together a little. I'm sure this helps me get the emotional impression I get from this cover. Namely, that impression is one of contraint and possibly good taste. If that is what the story is like, then good job. If the story is more energetic then a new concept might be in order.
Mystery!

I would think that the book is a murder mystery set among musicians.
ReplyDeleteI like the image but might suggest, that if possible it be zoomed out a small percent. I would like to see more of the gun and violin.
I also agree with robin, there is too much white at the top of the cover.
Seems like a mystery to me, too.
