The Fall by Robert J. Duperre

What's the genre? What's the logline? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.
Design by Jesse David Young.

  1. I like this cover a lot. The artwork is a refreshing change from the usual. I'm going to guess post-apocalyptic thriller as the genre.

  2. Really nice looking cover. I would definitely want to read the blurb to get more information. The artwork make me think post-apocalyptic, however, the sub-title "The rift book" makes me think parallel universe.

The fact that there is also an artwork credit on the cover makes me wonder if this is more a graphic novel.

  3. I like it too, and I agree with what S.J. and Eric said. Though I'm not a big fan of graphic novels, I think the horror fan in me would make me pick this one up based on the art on the cover.

  4. Hello everyone.

Thank you very much for the compliments. I'd like to point out that the image you are seeing here is only half of the cover. Rob and I visualized it as a wrap-around, so if you'd like to see the cover in full you can jump to my portfolio (which is linked to my name in this post). Some of the interior art is there as well.

    Thanks again.

  5. Eeeeek, J.D.! The whole cover is amazing. It creeps me out. I love it!

  6. That is just about the coolest cover art I have ever seen! WOW!

  7. This is a strong cover. Looks totally professional.

I'm assuming it's post-apocalyptic horror/supernatural with a YA bent, and the central character gives off a strong vibe of a doomed, decadent lost soul (also echoed in the title 'The Fall'). He is one of them, but only in part, and fighting over the warring parts of himself.

That's what it's saying to me.

    Great work.

  8. This is a really nice, professional-looking cover! It looks like something in the sci-fi/horror genre. The character on the cover looks young enough that this might also be a Young Adult book.

It definitely looks like something worth checking out.
