Legacy of Olympus by Teri Gilbert
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.
One of those fantasy/time travel/historical romances. To tell you the truth I hate them myself but this is probably a decent cover for one. I don't like so many fonts though.
On second thought, her hand looks weird, like her arm is broken or something. Might want to tweak the photoshopping.
The way the cover artist uses translucent effect gives the cover a mystical appearance. The sexy couple locked in an embrace screams romance, the title and the background makes me time travel, maybe paranormal.
I think that it looks like a romances with some fantasy tossed in.
The angle on the arms do look a little bit odd. However, I would suggest to make the people less translucent. We really don't need see through them to see the background.
Overall I really like it but I agree the hand position is sort of odd. And the fur throws me. I too would make the couple a bit less transparent (and maybe a bit larger, there's a lot of "same sized stuff" in the cover).

I like it. I think she's twisting back and touching his chest. If that's the case then it looks anatomically correct.
ReplyDeleteI think it's sensual and I like the translucent appearance to it.
MMMMMM. Sexy!

Sexy, hot cover. Love the embrace, the expression on her face. I'd read this book. Love the mythology theme.

ReplyDeleteI like the typefaces and treatments.
I don't think there's any way her hand could be at that angle--makes me think there's a third person but I've been looking at too many menage covers.
ReplyDeleteI think Donna is right, she's twisting her hand. The problem is the bulge of flesh, which is evidently her breast, reads as her shoulder.
ReplyDeleteI like the translucent nature of the cover. It seems mystical. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the cover, I think the way they are positioned and the haze over the cover gives it a romantic mystical quality that would make me pick this up
