What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.
Looks like contemporary fiction with a gritty side to it. I'd definitely take a look at that novel. It could be YA and I might be concerned about clarifying that. Very unusual but I think effective.
I really like this cover. Looks like contemporary YA. I love how the boy is the focal point and really comes to the forefront of the image. I'd check out this book. :)
I really like this cover. It's different and eye catching. If I had one tiny suggestion, it might be to move your hero to the left just a bit, enough to crop off a bit of his shirt but not lose his impact. I'd want to do that in order to make the title a bit bigger; to me the title is a bit small.
Chiming in a little late 'cos I've been away, but I would have said YA contemporary. I like this cover - it caught my eye for being just a little bit unusual for some reason. The boy's face drew me in, and I also like the graffiti-style title.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much J.R. It's a YA contemporary nitty gritty book and focuses on a teen learning to cope in the adult world when he's only 15.

ReplyDeleteThe cover works for contemporary YA.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything that I would do different or make any suggestions.
Best of luck with your book.

ReplyDeleteThanks so much everyone - great comments. I'm glad you all liked it. Angela did a great job with this cover and the sequel, Off Limits, is also great.
