Demon Whisperer by Tawny Stokes
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.
I would think urban fantasy. I think it is very evocative of a creepy feeling and yes, I think I'd be interested in knowing more and/or buying the book.
My one criticism would be the title text which I think I could be a bit more readable especially in a thumbnail.
This is a compelling image. The man is so intense. But he looks young. I don't think this is YA, but...? I like the hood and the green and purple. It gives a darkish paranormal feel. I love the title itself, but I think it's too scripty to be easily visible.
Compelling image. A little scary. I'd read the blurb to see if it was too scary for me....a real chicken when it comes to stuff like that. There's a definite paranormal feel. Maybe dark urban fantasy.
Awesome cover! YA urban fantasy is my guess. I have no criticism at all (very unusual for me, lol). Something that strikes me as especially effective is how the descender in the "p" of Whisperer reaches down to touch the top of the "y" in the author's name. I love that. :)
I think it's a YA Alternate Reality. Everything about the cover is terrific except for the title font. The lettering screams Photoshop and it is a very bland color. I love the lighting on the hero's face.
Love the cover art. The typeface is a bit jaggy for me, but it works okay with the cover. If it were me, I'd make it just a hair lighter in color so it stands out more against the background.

ReplyDeleteFantasy or paranormal of some kind. Definitely evocative but I don't much like the title font.
ReplyDeleteThe cover does make me think Fantasy, but I'm not 100% sure about the urban part that others are talking about.
ReplyDeleteThe artwork is very good and like the others have said, the title text is very hard to read. I would suggest another font.
Hmmm, good comments on the title font.

ReplyDeleteOverall a really nice cover.
Has a spooky look. Not sure if it's urban fantasy or maybe YA, but I like it.
