  1. This one seems pretty cut and dry. I'm sensing a thriller, mystery/suspense. The cover rings true to the title, lots of shrouding in darkness. I'm not a mystery buff but I would consider this appealing as a book cover. Plus it seems to have a classic look to it.

  2. I agree. This has to be a thriller or suspense. The cover is very well done and has a professional look about it. I suggests to me that I would find the writing inside to be equal to the quality of the cover. I would definitely pick up this book and read the back blurb.

  3. Thriller for sure.

I like the color scheme, but the person is so dark as to be almost not seen, especially if someone is viewing a monitor during the day. I might run a subtle highlight up the left edge just to help the viewer see there's a person there.

I'm not thrilled with the baby blue title and author color. The typefaces are fine though. Overall not bad.

  4. This cover works for me - the simplicity, the clarity, the colour scheme. It works well at thumbnail size.

I think it's a contemporary thriller. I read lots of thrillers.
This book would make me read the blurb, and if the blurb interests me, I'd read the sample pages.

While I'm not keen on having the title, byline and other stuff everything in all caps, and don't normally like advertising text (award-winning author) on the cover, I don't mind them here. The overall simplicity means the advertising doesn't clutter the cover, and the overall clarity means that the all caps lettering is legible.

While the cover doesn't have a 'Wow!' effect in on me, it definitely works.

The cover looks professionally crafted, and raises my expectations that the novel is also professionally crafted.
