Ballsack by s0nicfreak

What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. I haven't got a clue to what type of genre this book is.

While I get the joke of the cover picture I do find the picture a bit of a turn off and would not explore any father.

I also have no idea if this is a novel or what.

I think that the author's name could be a bit bigger.

  2. I'm going to guess this is some sort of cookbook. Mmmmm. Can't you just smell those onions sizzling in some olive oil? Great on sandwiches, too. And deep fried, or in an omelette! Onions are a healthy addition to any meal.

  3. I'm guessing some sort of Sedaris or Palhaniuk type book.

But the cover doesn't work at all. The image is flat and doesn't stand out, the title is too small, and the author's name is way too small (and honestly, I wouldn't buy something by a writer called "s0nicfreak" -- it sounds like a cooperative writing project from /b/).

  4. LOL, S.J. Didn't we have an onion in jail a while back? I agree with Sean. For something that should have more umph it really doesn't. There's stark, but then there is flat. I think it the texts were improved that might help but the image needs a bit more of something, I'm just not sure what. Then again it could be me.

I haven't felt well for much of the last week - I tried to get back to my usual early start but can't seem to focus. I think I'm going to get some more rest and return later to visit posts I missed.

  5. Like some of the others, I can't tell what the genre might be. I can't figure out the connection between the title and the onions, and the author's name is so small that at first I didn't realize it was even there. I wouldn't pick this one up, because it doesn't send a clear message.

  6. S.J. - You almost made me spit out my coffee reading your post. Cookbook... indeed.

I'm sorry to have to add this "s0nicfreak" If S.J. had posted this on April 1, I would have tough the whole book cover was a total April first joke.

You really need to rethink your title and cover.

  7. My guess: humor?

But I agree that there's no way to tell for sure what genre(s) this falls into. I'd pass this on that reason alone.
