Why Romeo Hates Juliet by Anna Mara
What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover?
Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want
to BUY the book? Discuss.
Okay, that aside, this cover just doesn't really work for me. The couple's photo just makes it too busy (not to mention my eye keeps getting sucked back to that ginormous manboob in horror). A much simpler pose, perhaps of just one person or part of one person, might work better.
On the right side, the only thing that's really readable is the author name. At the thumbnail size, none of the small text is readable. And though the typography on the title is actually very nice, there is not enough contrast between it and the sand; it's too faded out, making it difficult to read.
I think with some small tweaks this could be a compelling cover. For me it's just not quite there.
The cover tells me WHY ROMEO HATES JULIET is a sensuous romantic suspense taking place in a beach community. I like the right side of the cover the best but may have wanted to see a gun on the sand.
@robin. I'm glad that I wasn't drinking something when I read your comments or I would have had liquid all over my computer. My other thought on the left had side was If that wasn't a shaved leg, I would assume that this was a man on man romance book.
It sure doesn't look like Romeo hates Juliet.
Yes, the small text is totally unreadable and the title is borderline readable. I have to wonder why the cover designer didn't use the same dark blue for the title that was used for the author's name?
Holy Manboobs! His are way bigger than hers!
