Will of the Gods by Lynn Mixon

What's the genre? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. Erotica, I would assume. It doesn't appeal to me, but I rather think I'm not it's target audience either so you wouldn't expect it to.

It's probably a pretty good cover, or the artwork seems good enough even though I wouldn't look closer. However, I don't like the title font and the subtitle or tag line (whatever it is) is completely illegible even at this size much less in thumbnail.

  2. Romance or erotica, probably the latter.

On the one hand, it's not bad artwork. I like the color though it's a bit schitzophrenic; is the light coming from the torches in back? That's what the stairs say. Is it coming from the upper right front? That's what the figures say.

On the other hand, my God, he's going to break her back like a twig! This looks SO uncomfortable. Can you see getting the hot on with a guy doing this? Where's her other leg? Is she a gymnast? A contortionist?

On the third hand (yes, I am polydactyl, figuratively anyway) I have seen a lot of covers very similar to this so it fits the genre.

Type is a bit more problematic. It's a bit thin. I like it for the author name, but not the title of the book. It's going to be hard to read in thumbnail, and I can't read the blurb at all.

  3. I would say that it's paranormal erotica based on the cover and title.

The small sub text on the upper right hand side can not be read at all in thumbnail. I would suggest losing it.

I'm not a big fan of this type face. I think that something a bit bolder for the title. If you lose the blurb the text can be bigger across the top.
