Formed of Clay by Thea Atkinson

What's the genre? What's the logline? What is it you like or don't like about this cover? Does it make you want to know more about the book? Does it make you want to BUY the book? Discuss.

  1. The imagery is great. The only thing holding it back is the text - other than that, it's really sterling. :)

  2. The image screams post-apocalyptic to me, but the text looks more like ancient Greece or something. I'm not exactly sure that the genre would be just from the cover and title.

Personally, I don't think the font fits well with the image, either way. Overall, it looks very nice, though.

  3. I like the artwork and the colors. It's very dramatic and eye-catching. I don't have an issue with the font, although there might be a different font that would work better. It's hard to say because there's no way to know what this book is about based on the title and the graphic. Perhaps instead of just saying "a novella" you should include something that would indicate the genre. I'd also change the color or the author's name at the bottom. It gets lost in the graphic.

I think this is close to being a very good cover. It just needs a little tweaking to give a hint as to what the book is about.

  4. Thanks everyone. I'm going to look for some kind of Egyptian font rather than greekish. I appreciate your comments.
