The typography really lets it down and screams amateur. If it were written horizontally in the black space above the author name or even across the top, including her hair (yes, I'm assuming it's a she), it would be much better. Needs a better colour too. The sky blue is a bit too dayglo.

Could be YA, but definitely with a lit fic angle, possibly due to the sombre tone and serious expression.

Andy Conway
The Girl with the Bomb Inside (A Novelette) on Amazon.co.uk - Amazon.com and SmashwordsAndy Conwayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12092513024341129435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8175053073870042983.post-1964874168067118472011-04-25T10:34:16.198-07:002011-04-25T10:34:16.198-07:00The cover says YA, and Blues suggests romance or m...The cover says YA, and Blues suggests romance or maybe a nonfiction book about teen depression.

Overall the balance of light and dark is nice, but because I don't read much YA, I don't think I'd pick it up just because it's a YA book with a so-so cover. If the cover were more emotionally evocative, though, I might want to read the blurb.Colette Dukehttp://www.coletteduke.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8175053073870042983.post-5080156655540141112011-04-22T11:10:38.827-07:002011-04-22T11:10:38.827-07:00This is not a bad cover but it also is not a great...This is not a bad cover but it also is not a great cover. The title conveys the most information.

The blank look on the girl's face give the impression that it's a YA book.

I would not pick up the book based on this cover, however, I don't think that I'm the target audience either.Erichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11882910901554365995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8175053073870042983.post-84467192088610326842011-04-22T09:06:14.167-07:002011-04-22T09:06:14.167-07:00From the cover it looks like a YA romance. It wouldn't make me buy it, for I lean more toward YA with a paranormal slant when I do read it.Artemisnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8175053073870042983.post-39407367663460902492011-04-22T05:28:39.321-07:002011-04-22T05:28:39.321-07:00This seems like a spin on 16 Candles. Based on the title/picture, here is my byline: "Michelle Gavin was your typical teenager hoping for a prom date. When she didn't get asked, the nightmare began for not only Michelle, but everyone else in Polk High."Deep Roughhttp://www.chrisblewitt.comnoreply@blogger.com
